I posted here about a year ago asking if I should fix my 2011 E350 with a failing transmission. Most people said sell it. I decided to take a chance and find a shop that could revive your Mercedes Dubai. I spent about 8k on a full transmission rebuild, new conductor plate, torque converter service, and fluid. Honestly I was nervous for the first few months. But now I've put over 30,000 km on the car including a trip to Ras Al Khaimah and back multiple times. The transmission shifts perfectly, no issues at all. The car drives better than it has in years. For me, spending 8k to keep a car I love was worth way more than selling it for 15k and buying something unknown. I plan on keeping it for another 100k km if I can. Just wanted to share for anyone else on the fence about fixing an older Mercedes. Sometimes it's worth reviving an old friend. Anyone else kept a high mileage Mercedes on the road with some love and cash?
