My 2018 Charger R/T has been a solid daily for years but last Tuesday the AC decided it was done playing nice. Started with a faint hissing noise from the glovebox area whenever the compressor cycled on and then by Friday afternoon the air went from cold to kind of cool to absolutely nothing at all. I was dreading the conversation at the shop because every previous experience with AC issues usually starts with "we recommend a full system replacement" before anyone even pops the hood. Took it to a place a neighbor recommended that apparently has Skilled Dodge AC Technicians in Sharjah and they actually took the time to put the UV dye in and use a sniffer to track down exactly where the leak was coming from. Turned out to be a pinhole leak in one of the high pressure lines near the firewall, not the compressor or the evaporator like I was mentally preparing to pay for. They replaced the line assembly, pulled a proper vacuum on the system to boil off any moisture, and recharged it to the exact spec for the 5.7. Two days later and the vents are so cold my knuckles hurt on the steering wheel again. It's such a relief when a shop just fixes what's actually broken instead of playing parts roulette with your wallet. If you've got a Charger or Challenger with a slow leak, maybe check those lines before letting anyone convince you the whole system is toast.
