Laos is less bloody than Vietnam and Cambodia war ( Killing field ) but the world community would not allow Laos to be part of the world community and isolated Laos and make Laos difficult to trade with the member of the world trade organization (WTO) and make the investors from the free world afraid to invest in Laos . Do Laos really need more investors from the European countries and the United States and their dollars to invest in Laos besides China , Thailand and Vietnam ? What would Laos have to do to bring more foreign investors to invest in Laos ? Laos is rich with natural resource and also a very beautiful county ? Perhaps Laos should keep the way it is ,underdevelopped and under population to preserve her natural beauty. If that is the case then keep Chinese to immigrant into Laos for their exchange of the Chinese foreign aid .
Could Laos make money other way beside building Mekong Dams ?
Perhaps the new technology such as plasma generator or nuclear fusion should be built instead of hydro power dams.

Laos has enough hydro electricity to power the entire country several times over so they don't need nuclear energy. Do you know why Lao people don't have enough electricity? My friend lives in Vientiane and he can't even power his AC cause the voltage drops to below 190V which is not enough for a 220V appliance like an AC. The reason is the fking commie gov't would rather make money selling it to other countries. Other countries come in and build infrastructure to get that electricity to their own country.
