to bo inrested in studying math. Beside teachers, parents are important factors.

How does south Korea become the digital capital of the world if the south Korea student are not good in Math, physics , electronic and science so do Singapore and upper Austria. The education is the best investment for the Lao government and the future of the nation and the country.

It should be what kind of education fit for the Lao people for the time being? Also Laos need to be open its doors more and bring in foreigner and must do a lot better then our neighbors. The only choice for Laos is that it must plan its policy better then our neighbors China,Vietnam,Cambodia,Burma and Thailand since Laos is a small bordered nation. It makes sense for a small country like Laos to improve better then our neighbors.

And in another case, maybe Communist system doesn't fit well with the Lao population. Laos need to bring in more Democracy into its present system that can lead the lao people out of poverty into modernization with the rest of the world. Right now I don't see the newly appointed leader have any future for the Lao people. Laos will again remain poor and ignored by most major international community and business around the world.

If you look at IMC2010, 2009 and 2008 you will see that students

from Kyiv Taras Shevchenko National University and Moscow State

University always lead the highest score in math and science.

That is only half of the equation. There are plethora of people with high test scores around the world. It is what you do with it that is the key. And lastly, can you keep those people in your country before they bolt to an open country. That's what the American did after World War II. They took a lot of the German scientists and gave them citizen because they knew these guys/gals would create innovation. At the moment, the US law(s) concerning citizenship is a long process. If they would have passed the Dream Act, they would have gotten a lot of innovative people. These people start small businesses and pay good money to their employees. Remember, there are a lot of people from around the world that attend these top US Universities. The problems is that they can't keep these talented people from leaving the US because of their visa (citizenship) problems.

Hong Kong is part of China yes. However, they have had a history with the British Education system and they have more freedom than Mainland China because of the agreement with the UK. You see, Hong Kong always had a head up from mainland China. So has Taiwan. When people are able to access information freely and ideas are able to float freely then new ideas are created. I'm not saying democracy is all it's crack up to be but a good mixture of the two system for Laos is good especially in the translational phrases.

I'm not going to get into the Capitalistic and Socialistic debate because they both have their pros and cons. To long any way. The thing is to look at it from multi-point of view. Be more objective and less subjective. I'm not say it about you but we Lao people need to do that more now because of global competition.

Hong Kong was trained and developed by the British over 100 years and was handed over to China in 1997 . Then China learned a lot of from Hong Kong how to trade with the world . The Chinese students spent years in Chinese university and only few students will be hired by the Chinese companies in China unlike the Chinese students graduated from the United States and European countries. Highest score doesn't mean that they are good in practice and also doesn't guarantee that they will be able to discover and invent something new. There are very few Chinese scientists who graduated from Chinese university in China got the Nobel prize but there are more Chinese scientists from over sea. Albert Einstein was not a very good student but he was the best scientist of the 20th century. With his in site E=MC2 that opened the door to many things and many ideas and technologies of our modern time today. Even explain about how the universe began. ( Solid , liquid ,gas and plasma ).

I don't see any useful of algebra , trigonometry, geometry , calculus or any kind of math ,physics , Chemistry ..etc.. that will be helping me to be successful.

Mathematics is the extremist of all academic disciplines and it's no surprise it measures how intelligent a person is.

Albert Einstein was the most famous scientist in the 20th century and he was not rich. Most of the scientists delegate their lives and time just to discovered and invented somethings and they never really care about the money that they could be making from their discoveries.

Singapore and south Korea government change their education system to make their citizen are very good in math , physics which turn the people to skill workers and their economy is very successful unless Lao government spend very little money on education and to train Lao people.

Good in math and science but be able to be think. That is why the Chinese can't create much stuff but like to steal it. I read that they are trying to change that. Their main emphasis is on math and science but they are teaching them to think like US students now.

How many are there Lao government officers good in math and physics ,Chemistry and science? They don't have to be good in math to run the country. George Bush and Obama are not very good in math . What math and physics have to do with solving the poverty and the country economy.
