What a beautifully photographed documentary. It captured the immense natural beauty of Laos that's slowly changing because of the fast-track development. Are dams beneficial to the country or not? I guess it should be a balance so much so that the environment shouldnt be taken forgranted in the course of these constructions.
$80 million earning for Laos for just a single dam (the 1st one featured that sends electricity in part to Thailand) is nothing to scoff at. That is just for 1 dam alone, and there are 50 dams in several stages of construction and operation. You can imagine how much the government will make from all these dams. I hope such income is filtered back to the people.
It's a great documentary. Thanks for sharing that here. Those who haven't seen it yet, go watch.
Hmm ! There're not that much changes in the infra structure system in my district, what are we getting from those earning ? not that much isn't it ? because it first goes to the high ranking oficial homes construction payment but only tiny portion left for people ! We have to wait for next thirty years to see some obvious changes, I would surely passed away before seeing them...Never mind ! Hope my grand childre will see them !
