I am also lao living in Laos... but I dont really care that much...

your answer is eary to answer too, because Thailand has developed ahead of Laos and Cambodia, the countries that developed ahead would have some advantage to show their culture and tradition, for example Japan and South Korea., South Korea also claim that Kimbab was Korean food, but no one know about Kimbab right, but people know about Sushi instead, you know why, because Japan has developed ahead... who know Sushi (Kimbab) was maybe a korean food...

I really don't think who is ahead or who is behind, But heavily promoted, They the Thailand spent alot of money to promote their country, their foods, and cultures, Don't forget, Thailand is a heaven for the Western tourist and as well as fellow Asian countries..

Please do research more on the food...

Many countries food are silmilar for example: China has hot pot, Japan also has simmilar thing which is called sukiyaki, and even Korean call Shabushabu... and you find many things that Japan, Korea and China they eat something very similar..

even cambodia they also have something similar to thaifood and even in myanmar... you now why, because we are next two each other, so food, culture... are similar...it depends on you have the money to promote your self first or not...
