battery of SEA sounds like very cool and if WE switch off the button in Laos will affect the countries that use the electricity in SEA.
my concern is, what will the dam do when there is heavy rain in the future, every dam will drain the water from the water Reservoir and the low area will be affecting by flooding..?? plus the dam of china as well as drain the water, what will lao ppls do??

Maed needs more than 2 billion kip to help flood victims
(KPL) The Maed district authorities need more than 2 billion kip to help flood victims and replant crops.
Days of heavy rainfall between 17 and 18 July resulted in flood causing damage to live and property of people in the district.
Maed District Chief Mr Khamsod Phetlavanh said last Wednesday that the flood had destroyed six villages in the district and they were Napho, Maed, Sisa-ard, Napa, Nam Houang and Nady. He said that these villages housed 230 families of 1,216 people.
The flood claimed three lives including two men and a woman. Over 200 ha of rice field have been destroyed by the flood. The disaster also wiped away 54 rice barns, two buffalos, five cows, 17 pigs, and more than 1,000 poultries.
It also damaged four gravity-fed water systems, 14 fish ponds, 15 immigration systems, one school and properties of the people.
�To resolve the situation, the Party Committee and district authorities has visited the affected areas and worked closely with local authorities and people, providing them emergency assistance. We are requesting the government to provide a financial budget for restoration of people�s livelihood,� said Mr Khamsod.
The only ways to prevent overflow flooding of the dam is to create a reservoir or a largest man made lake deep enough to hold that water from over flowing during the wet season.

More Hydro dams are more dangerous for the people who's living south stream of the dams. Be prepare to protect the capital Vientiane in case Nam Ngum dam collapses some day in the future. Earthquake is happening every corner of the earth now. There are 60 more years only that Nam Gnum dam will collapsed.
We have to show that we don't support the Dam Project in our country, if we never show, the world won't know what we think about the increasing of DAM in Laos
I personally disagree and not support all the DAM in Laos, especially sayabuly Dam will be built on the Mekong.
