A joint Lao-Thai venture has invested about US$500,000 to build outlets of The Pizza Company and Swensen's in Vientiane, after learning about the high purchasing power of the Lao people in fast.
i might walk by to take pictures.... but no way in hell that i'll be eating pizza while i'm in laos. it is good to see different franchises opening up in laos.
I don't get it, most countries are proud of their own food. Chinese have chinese food that is famous all over the world, Japanese are known for their sushi, koreans for their kimchi, Thai people for their spicy thai dishes, indians for their curry, greeks have their salads, italians and pasta, vietnamese and pho noodles. How come we don't have anything to share with the world and make a franchise to dominate with? My co-worker keeps on asking me to make her sticky rice everyday. I told her to go to the nearest Laos restaurant and she said there are none, anywhere.
