Thailand to help finance 9-kilometre rail link with Lao capital.

Viang Jan, Laos - (08 Feb, 2010) - Thailand has provided $303,000 USD to finance design work on a railway link between the Thai border and Viang Jan, media reports said Monday. Work on the preliminary design of the 9-kilometre link began in October and should be completed within eight months, Lao National Railway Authority deputy director General Soensak Nhansana said.

Soensack said that once the design was completed, the Lao government would ask Thailand for financial support to build the railway. Construction should start this year and be completed by 2011, the Viang Jan Times reported.

The Thai government pledged to fund construction of the railway with a grant for 30% of the cost and a low-interest loan covering the remainder.

A rail link between the two countries over the Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge was opened last year.

Although the train service is currently limited to passengers, Lao officials said facilities will be added to carry containers, which is to provide a new means for Laos to transport goods to Bangkok's port.

Laos' government has included the construction of a nationwide railway network as part of its next five-year socioeconomic development plan. It is now looking for funding sources.

A Malaysian company is conducting a feasibility study for a railway from Savannakhet city to the Laos-Vietnam border.

Only the people would want to come to Laos are the Vietnamese and the Chinese because they want to conquer Laos. Chinese want Laos to be part of their province like Sip song Phanna and Vietnam want Laos to dominate Laos because of copper , timber, land for rubber plantation and golf course and resources and hotel so they could bring and illegal Vietnamese soon will swallow Lao citizen and also took at least 20 Km of Lao land by the border according to the world map report and Lao government won't dare to say a word to the Vietnamese.

People just don't realize that Thailand is the number one investor in Laos who gave Laos more aids and assistance and fair trade then Chinese and Vietnamese but a lot of young Lao kid are still angry and mad that Siam invaded Lan Xang .China destroyed Lao kingdom and took Sip Song Phanna from Laos. Burma destroyed and invaded Laos Lanxang and Lanna. Siam invaded Laos and took Lanna and Esau .Today new way of conquer the Vietnamese made and selected Lao government and support them military so the communist party are in powerful so they could do what ever they please in Laos. Then the Chinese came in and want to make the foot hold in southeast asia so they will do what ever it take to dominate Laos with any cause bu spending billion of dollars so the Han Chinese could be settled in Laos. So Lao economy will grow and developed as fast as Cambodia in different way and perhaps Laos will be more developed and more modernized than Cambodia because of the Chinese and Vietnamese would like to indirectly conquer and dominate Laos. So watch out Cambodia.

Only Laotian will move to Thailand and look for work and  try to become Thai citizen so they could work and get  benefit from government health care and better eduction for their Child and the best of all monarch  system even  is not best country in the world but people still have some  free speech  and some chance of democracy  and some voice and opinion from the people to be heard ,Even though that Thailand is not the true democracy but the people are still having the freedom of speech and have the right to  vote and criticise the government unlike in Laos there is no freedom of speech  and the human being right and the right to vote for the leader and all the decisions and the future of all citizen are already made by one group of party .

I don't want any more people from neighbouring countries moving to Laos because we have too many Hmong already, some or them still fight the government ans some still kill and maim people traveling up and down along Highway 13 North.

You like it or not there will be more Chinese and Vietnamese in Laos . Laotian will be the minority and still poor and  low educated people and second class citizen to be maid and service for the rich Chinese and Vietnamese boss or master. That is the fact. There are no future for the  majority of young Laotian but farmers and street workers without any skill .
