This is not to start controversy and argument topic nothing but curious and want to know the truth and study why ? and what ? when someone hate some body and some place but they still want to go there and live there that is the knowledge to know. If some people don't like some where and some people so they don't have to be there.
A lot of people like and love Russia and China and a lot of them don't want to go and live in Russia and China but they want to go and live in the United States where they hate and criticise the most specially the people from the middle east.
The ambivalent feeling towards the US I think is universal. Not everyone likes what they do, especially the way they influence other nations (ex. Iraq). But still people recognize that it is a land of opportunities for those who will work hard enough. This notion serves a magnet to attract people to take the risks and come to America. They probably realize that what they can earn in one year working in their homeland can be earned in one month when they are in the US. Of course there would be other individualized reasons, but the majority will likely related to what I previously stated. They are taking aside whatever hesitation or reservation that they have and use their common sense and be practical if they want to pursue their desire to make their life better and give their children better future and opportunities.

No, it also applies to well off families. Remember I said they want better opportunities and future for their children. That includes getting good education that may not be available in their respective countries. There is an advantage if their children will be exposed to western education and work experience because, whether you like it or not, many local companies have preference to individuals who have experience in developed/ developing countries believing that they would be able to bring in new ideas that would make the company on a better footing, both financial and market wise, thus keep the company's competitive advantage.
As for those who are already multimillionaires, owning properties in the west would give them an advantage of spreading their wealth and putting them in a better position in case they wanted to put up a business there. Notice that they really dont stay permanently but once in a while still come back to their homeland, where most likely they also have established business or maybe because of other agenda. Moreover, it also adds to their prestige back home. There are still a lot of possible reasons; worst case scenarion is running away from crimes/ persecution.
Anyway, these are just my thoughts.

That is good there are still 12 millions illigal immigrant in the US , and every year millions of illigal immigrant from all over the world try to smuggle in the US . So let them go to the other countries as you said so we don't have to pay for their welfare , school, medicare ...cte.

China is the rich country and the second largest economy in the world where the medicare and living condition and welfare and food stamp are ready for you. Yes, you maybe right of what've said, Brother. sine you already mention about welfare and healthcare things. so, we as an American do not supported or encourage our people to stay on the government assistant for the rest of their life ok. the geovernment jump in it because some of us lost our job and the government help out for a few month just to stand on our feet. some may stay alittle longer than expect,but, that the way it is here. and as for healthcare, we do not provide a free healthcare here as you called it(Universal healthcare) where you are living right now, and as for my self, i'm very happy with my provider. it' private health insurance, it' out of my own pocket, and i can go to any hospital i want it to. and can also change as many Doctors as i want if i don't like the doctor. and certainly not gonna happen in the countries where they provided a free healthcare, especially the government run healthcare. now you know why so many american people against the Obamacare, and as i've said it in my other comment, the poor of the world cannot be made rich by redistribution of wealth.poverty can't be eliminated by punishing people who've escaped poverty , taking their miney and giving it as reward to people who have failed to escape. economic leveling doesn't work that way. and last but not least, Yes, i've to admitted that, America still lack behind some countries in Europs in some category,But, over all i'm very satisfied with my life here. If you hadn't gone to war in Irag you could have had your Universal Healthcare three times over. And was it worth it? The average Iraqi now turned around and hate your guts for it. The Chinese company even won some oil contracts without spending a dime getting rid of Saddam. What a thankless task.
