(KPL) The southernmost province of Champassak has said the domestic and foreign investment in the past eleven months was 1.36 trillion kip, up by 1.6 times over the same period last year. The amount was the investment in 56 projects. Most investment, amounting at 628 billion kip, has gone to 31 projects in agriculture and 546 billion kip to 10 projects in industry and 187.4 billion kip to 15 projects in services sector.
Director of the Planning and Investment Service of Champassak, Mr. Nanongsack Satakul, said that agriculture and industry drew a large portion of foreign investment and in the year 2010 there would be several big projects put on track and practically operational such as the investment in bauxite mining, hydropower plant on the Mekong river and small scale hydropower plants on Houai Champy river, a water plant and a tourism development project in Siphandone district. Mr.
Nanongsack also said that some investors were interested in the development projects of Vangtao international checkpoint and Nong Nok Khien checkpoint.
He said that the investment by both foreign and domestic companies so far this fiscal year significantly increased.
The province had facilitated the investment of investors and held meeting to enable government officials and business? representatives to deal with problems on investment in the province.
The province also established website and published brochures giving information on investment opportunities for investors

Yes, Indeed, this projects will make plenty of money for Investors and Pak-lae-lath as well as the whole country. one the projects get start, either they the ''Investors will hire a local or not that another story,well, I think, it' up to a trademinister how he sign the contact with investors. and another good point that you brought it up '' Pollution'' I really believe the environmentalist experts and Developers probably working together to make a better envirronment, to me, lao will be stronger if it develops coherent technology and market-oriented solutions to environmental conservation and energy consumption. consider how much better we can do in each field. It's posible to have a healthy environment and economy. It's posible to have biodiversity and wealthy human beings on the same planet. and It's posible to have a free markets, scientific and technological advances, and even more positive environmental outcome. there's every reason to be optimistic that if we develop smart environmental and biodiversity policies our chidren and grandchidren will experience an even more pleasant world, Oh man, I'm dreaming right now, all stuffs I was mention above, it' might just my dream. but if all our lao-people dream hard enough, it' might happen, ya'll know what i'm saying....
