This is a good news we need chinese in Laos since Laotian think small in small term and thinking. They are lacking behide, just give the land up to the chinese so they can build Laos instead of Lao people.

the problem with chinese, as with many foreigners in any country is they think only about immediate profit.... don't care about anything else.. they are ready to do anything that can have many bad consequences (social, environmental..) if this can help them to make more profit.
Accepting foreign investment need very strong and efficent regulation... not sure Lao authority are strong, non-corrupted, experienced enough and organized for that.... (the only thing i wish for Laos)
I fully agree with you Paris. They only concern about profit,,,and more and more profits. They dont care if they use cheap toxic substances such as lead in the paints they use for manufacturing toys for children, they dont care if their products will use raw materials that is dangerous to the environment. And yes, they also use lax law implementation in some countries to manufacture pirated CDs and illegal drugs, even use children to sell them in retail.
I think later on all real Lao Loum peoples will move out from city to live in mountains or juggles somewhere fare away from Cities, and then jeck and keo peoples will move in to live in the big city of LAOS. Because the real Lao Loum communist so stupids their don't know how to control their Country, their sold lots of Land to them. I mean more land their let them rented more jeck and keo peoples they come to live in LAOS.
Laotian not help each other and their can not do must things because Communist Regime. More their works more their poor different more their corrupt more their reach. Who can do Corruption in Laos only PHAK LAE LATH. Looks GOVERNOR or LE KHA PHAK they've a power like a king. their can do anything, different Regular Laotian people can not do must thing only poor.
Again, one thing I would like to share more Jeck and Keo their builded in LAOS not for the LAO people even not for LAO Goverments, just build for them people. Next 10 years from now only Jeck and keo will be in Town of Vientane and some big cities of LAOS.
