According to Phongsavadan Lao, Vientiane was established as the Capital of Laos (Lan Xang) in 1560. That is the evidence.

the Lao original Vientianian probably lives in Vientiane from the 10th century. Or we can say that there is Lao people move from North to Vientaine more than 1000 years ago. But Vientiane capital was established when King Saysetha move the capital from Xava(Luangprabang) to Vientain in 1650s.

King Setthathirath moved the capital from Luang Prabang to Vientiane in 1560.

Now tell me, How many countries back then''1560'' that developed a camera? sometime when you see black/whtie photo back in the old day, it' doesn't mean that photo was from the film. and there's alot of G.Washington photo hanging all over the govt building and most of them was the water and color paint and look original. so you need to stop asking about 1560's photo.

some of you guys know how was vientiane before 1560? it was like a city with no people? was it big? haha I guess there are many temple there

When Lan Xang reached her height during the 17th century (1600s), Vientiane had over 200 temples. In addition, many palaces, canals, and walls were included. The city also expanded to present day Nong Khai and Phon Phisai (Thailand). Compare that to modern day Vientiane.
