International Expeditions has introduced a new program in Laos and Vietnam for 2010.
The Birmingham, Ala.-based tour operator has launched a 15-day itinerary in the Southeast Asia countries with a total of four departures scheduled for early next year: Jan. 17 and 31, and Feb. 14 and 28.
The Laos and Vietnam offering will be IE’s only in Southeast Asia. IE currently has programs in India and Papua New Guinea, in addition to destinations in Central and South America and Africa.
IE specializes in small group tours, and the Laos-Vietnam trips will only have 12 guests on each departure, led by an expedition leader and native experts. The 15-day itinerary includes Luang Prabang and Wat Phou Champasak in Laos, and Hanoi, Halong Bay and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, among other destinations.
Laos and Vietnam starts at $3,898 per person, double, and includes all accommodations, most meals, local transportation, guides and group transfers. International and in-country air are not included. Flights can be arranged through IE.
IE is also offering a three-day extension to Siem Reap, Cambodia, featuring Angkor Wat and other temples, starting at $798 per person, double.
IE, founded in 1980, is owned by British travel conglomerate TUI Travel PLC.
