Do you think this Farang band can go that far in Lao music industry ?

KPL) ULUVUS (pronounced You love us・ a farang band would be releasing a Lao rock album.

The band's sponsor, Tigo said Indee Records would be releasing the album in July.
ULUVUS enjoyed a good track record here as its debut single, Phusao・shot up to the runner up spot in the song chart early this year.

We are keen fans of Lao bands like the Cells, Punky Dolls and L.O.G and we wanted to make an album in Lao because we love the Lao music scene,・said the band' singer, Chris Crash.

The ten tracks have been produced by Sam Intharaphithak, one of Laos・most talented artists and producers.

We are also huge fans of Sam. He is an amazing musician and producer and he is like a member of our band!・said Chris.

This is the good thing for Lao music , they have their style and can play well in live concert .
and the most important is they try to sing in Lao .
then you have to look back to many lao boy band or girl band , compare both then you will find what is quality !!

cheer!!!

I think they're excellent in promoting Lao musics without sounding corny and cheezy even though is not my style of music.

"White is Lao language"

White is not Lao language, it's English.  Kao is Lao language.  I used the term falang over 30 years ago, didn't know it was a Thai word.

They are not bad, but it's hard sometime trying to understand what they are singing about. I think it's harder to understand than Lao people singing in english versus foreigner singing in Laos.

Khon khao or farlang is the term Lao American use to describe white people.

Farlang is  the term Lao people of Laos use to describe white people.  The name came about because of the French colonized Laos. French was the first white people that Lao people had contacted with that is why Lao people called them French (farlang).

In the past 200 years the word farlang were only used to describe the French people, but now a day farlang is use to describe all white European people.

French influences on Laos:
1.  Lao drive on the right side same as the French and the rest of the world do.
2.  Some of our Lao foods has French influenced on them.
3.  Our Lao language have some French words and also English too.
4.  Our Lao momument and architectors has French style.

Thailand:
From what I learn the English is what the Siam got their influence from not the French.

English influences on Thailand:
1.  Your Royal Army uniforms are exactly like the British Royal Army uniforms.
2.  You Thai people drive on the left side same as England.
3.  Your language have some of the word from English.

If what you said is true about the term Farlang where Lao people of Laos used to call French then all white people.  Then why do Thai also use this term to call white people?  Who started this word first?  Not that it matters to me - I still continue to use the word.

Could it be that the Thai got that from us Lao?  As you know Thai and Lao are both influencing each other.  And because our language are smiliar to each other.

Lao and Thai are under the same language family called Tai Kadai.

Just want to let you know why Lao American use the term khon khao to describe white American is because all of the minorities here in American called the European people (white people).

Lao of Laos only use farlang for white people.

their lao accent is funny...I get a kick out of it.  Don't particular like hard rock music, but admire their efforts for singing in Lao language.  Too many bands are singing in english already.
