BURMA - US - SUU KYI: The lawyer of pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi says Burmese authorities have charged her with violating her house arrest after an American man swam across a lake and hid inside her home. The 63-year-old Nobel Peace laureate was taken from her residence Thursday and transferred to Rangoon's Insein Prison where authorities say her trial will begin next Monday. She could face up to five years in prison if convicted. Aung San Suu Kyi's lawyer Kyi Win said an American was the source of all the charges, calling him a fool.

Are they lover ? Why american man had to swim across a lake and hide in her house. If it is not about love related issues, i think it is ok, if not, just send the american man to the jail and free Suu Kyi
I have some Burmese friends in Dubai who working in the hotel business but every time they go back to their home town or TT money back. Burmese Government have to charge them the money many a lot... Sad about this.

it's the stupidity of that american. he swam through the lake then got aung san su kyi in trouble. the present government is always finding the flimsient of reasons to make life harder for the pro-democracy icon and nobel laureate. to think she has been under house arrest for more than 10 years now. sad really.
