Lao officer says that Laos plans to export the corn ( 300,000-400,000 Tones) to China and southkorea
the corn in Laos 1kg about 1250 kip ($0.147 USD) in 2008, now the price is reducing to 900 kip per kg according to Ministry of commerce of Laos. now the Korea has already signed to import from Laos, but the price is unkown yet, therefore I personally think that this is best time for Lao farmer to cultivate the corn and export to aboard, that will increase the farmer's income and improve the socio economic. what do u think?
It seems to be good news. If I remembered once Lao officers asked (begged) Thai government to buy Lao corn, if Thai did not buy it would have been bad for Lao farmers. They had nowhere to sell their corns which were in their stores.
It made me thinking that our Lao governments have no any agreements with foreign governments. They just let farmers do. They don't care much to find the markets for Lao people.
Just a thought, probably I don't know the reality.
this is very good news. we have to keep on diverisfying our exports... now we just have to keep on building up our infrastructure so we can increase productivity.
