Lao or Thai girl ?

I saw this status in Thailand every where, and I guess it is Thai.
What I don't understand is that, why in Laos, even at the airport, hotel, guest house, and many important places, we use this same status of thai girl dress to welcome guests ? Can't we produce it ourself ?

Where you can see Thai women wearing like this?

Only Lao women would wear like this. So no question about the statue. Definitely it reppresents Lao culture.

It is not the status, it is the wooden statue. Status is different from statue. It is not the same and does ot have the same meaning at all.

Laos have many woods and trees; I think more so than Thailand.  Lao can make wooden statue of anything kinds we want and so does everybody in the world.

Pluse Lao and Thai share similar culture, food, and language of course you will see a lot of thing similiar.

The wooden statue looks more Lao than Thai to me.  The hair style and sinh (Lao traditional dress) folded across the opposite side is definitely Lao; Thai traditional dress looks identical to Khmer traditional dress.
