At the meeting between Laos and the Viet Nam Olympic Committee in Hanoi on Sunday, Giang said that Vietnam will partner with Laos to organise sports such as martial arts pencak silat, karate, taekwondo, wrestling, wushu, shuttle**** kicking, shooting, archery, finswimming and diving.
Vietnam, which hosted the 22nd SEA Games in 2003, will send its experts to assist Laos in training its athletes.
At the meeting, vice chairman of the Lao Olympic Committee, Sengphone Phonh Amath, said that Laos would host 25 sports in next year's SEA Games.

This is what I don't understand. Why even bother have other country to be co-host?? Wouldn't Laos wants to take all the credit and show other ASIAN countries that Laos can do this?
First of all, why even bother to wants to host if knowing that it is impossible tasks. I'm not being negative at all. I do realized the potential of Laos making $$$ and to boost the economy. The way I see it, if the visitors come to Laos and their experiences are negative one. They will not come back again.
I'm totally against an idea of having Thai hosting some games in Thailand. What the point? If they going to allow that, mind as well call it ASEAN Game of Thailand again.
If we allow thailand to be co-host with us... we will totally lose face...
Why dont they use the money the renovate the football stadium in downtown to build the basketball indoor stadium instead.... and move the soccer match to savannakhet...
It will be better for us to compete in Thailand or help them host the SEA Games than giving financial donation for the construction of a basketball court in Laos since the money [that will be] used for the said purpose may be channeled to other projects which can benefit us," Eala explained. philippines
Their reason for cutting down the events is that they either do not have the facilities and expertise to hold the sports concerned or that they do not have a team to compete in a particular sport," said Kok Chi.
"Laos will shock the world to host the seagames 2009 ,because the sport events has cut for an half... "said I
