You can or you can't.
I am not surprised with this ranking. Laos has few parks, poor infranstructure such as road, drainage system, garbage collections, etc... The public transportation is very inconvinient too.

See the ranking again, you will see that all the poor countries has a very low ranking.

These data are not convincing. Look Mongolia, where only deserts, mountains without trees, is even better than Laos.

Mongolia, maybe too far and some of us have never been there. Look Vietnam is even better than Laos, but Laos export trees to Vietnam.

This ranking is not base on the number of trees or forest, but the air and water condition, enviromental laws, energy prices, green areas and parks, public transport, manipulation of garbage and sewerage and much more... get it? weirdfaceyawn

Well. Laos has got to have something to rank up there in the very top of things - but I just couldn't figure out what that is ...

From the link:

We analyzed data from two top sources covering 141 nations to rank the world's greenest, most livable places. View the complete city and country rankings.

By Matthew E. Kahn, PhD, and Fran Lostys.

I think, it's just their opinion and probably they had never been in Laos. Don't take it too serious.

I strongly support the point of view of Matthew E.Kaln.

i agree that laos isn't green but Bangkok outranks Vientiane? Anyone who has been to BKK will know that their air pollution level is much worse than VTE

Well if you'd ever read readers digest you wouldn't worry much. Besides, I thought 101 out of 145 aint bad! And as was mentioned Vietnam aint that green they go all the way to Laos to cut trees.
