The Laotian International Media Institution or LIMI introduced itself and launched its LaoITV broadcast on Sep 09, 2007 in Los Angeles.
The event brought more than 200 participants around the globe, preceded the day before by a traditional Lao Buddhist ceremony to bless the opening. The ceremony, held at LIMI’s headquarters in Pomona, was presided by Phramaha Ajan Bounkong Singsouvanh of Vat Lao-Hawaii and a number of local monks.

Laotian professional singers in attendance included Phone Phoumithone of Virginia, Phayvanh Mekaroun of Tennessee, Houngfa Daomay of California, along with fourteen bands who helped make the night a very successful one.
Dr. Khampha Sidavong, one of LIMI’s founders told VOA that the goal of LIMI, “ Is to make it as a center for media sources and information exchange, as well as news distribution for all overseas Laotians.” Lao ITV airs daily from 2:00-4:00pm Pacific times.
