According to Lanxang history book, muang Sawa was found in the year 754 by Khun Lor (Kolofeng) first son of Khun Boulom. The name of Luang Prabang was given by King Sayasethathirath in 1560 because is was the city where Prabang was at.

Any way, I hope our current government honor king Sayasethathirath by manifesting the missing piece of history to its peoples, also relocate his stupa from southern Lao and place it in the ground of That Luang.

The earthes been here for a while, there is no "oldest".

If you mean the oldest inhabitated land of the tai peoples within the Lao borders, it would probably the northern most and around Luang Phrabang.

which scattered all over the land of southeast Asia.

I want to agree, but 1500-2000 seems way too long. I mean, the Khmer empire and the empire before that was there around that time.

I like talking about history more than politics, because when you deal with politics, someone will have a totally different opinion. But with history, our opinions are somewhat similar, its just we disagree on the smallest things like dates.

Yes 2000 years seems way long, and I totally agreed that the land was once occupied by the Khmer. During those period the Tai was living in a small groups through out the land under Khmer powers. Let s use the record from king Rama Khamheang of Sokhothai and record of Kampong Ro District in Cambodia where prince Fah Ngoum first gathered his men to established Lanxang in 1353. First king Ram Khamheang mentioned in his stone scripts that Lao people have been living in the area of what today is Viengchan for over 1500 years or longer. Second, Kampong Ro record also mentioned the exact record as Sokhothai. Lastly, as we both agreed that the land was occupied by the Khmer, look at our Lao language as another example, its because of deep influence by the Lao for 2000 years or more that lead the indigenous Khmer to speak Lao today.

Pardon my poor English skills!
