Yes, you are right. We just need to keep in mind that Thai people have never done the good thing for Lao people in our country history. They always try take advantages over us. That is my opinion.

Sabaidee my dear Thai friends,

Here are some correct translation about Lao language

1) Photo shop = Han Tai Houp (the same with thai, but difference pronounciation). Lao people never say Han Haek Ta

2) For all the name of the movies, Lao peole never translate in that way. We just use the way it use. For example Superman is Superman

....You are right !

Anyway, Thai Esan although they live in Thai territory, speak Lao, eat Lao meals, listen Khaen musics, love padek's smell  (!) : in a short way, on their deep feeling since three or four centuries, they feel LAO, "they are LAO people ".

It's time for them to return back HOME, at last,  to build THE GREAT LANEXANG  !!!

As well as the Lao Siei or Lao Leum in the Burma borders living there since centuries they have been deported from Lanexang by the Siamese.

Lao Jaleun  Der !

From my personal experience with one of the former Thai general living in exiled, he saids "Sometime thai intentionally mistranslated lao language and demeaning lao for the reasons so Isaan and Lanna feel ashame to call themselves Lao or to have any connection with Lao."
