Sabaidee all

Look at the 2 photos I feel sad about it, It's possible that Lao government can change those conditions. Government must have informations of how many villages and people are under the Poverty line, where are those villages? Gradually Lao government should build proper school, decent school in a word, now Lao can produces plastic tables and chairs, so the very first year of children, kids attending school is important, government should provide plastic tables and chais for those schools, in that way kids can have decent place to learn. This is how country like Sweden and Finland children sit in their class in tables like plastic table we have seen in LAO. It doesn't need to be like in the 2 photo we see. I believe Lao government can do it, only the WILL.

If you compare school facilities in Laos with those big countries such as Sweden and Finland, you will always feel very sad, because it is totally different.

However, if you compare Laos with another third world countries who even have no shelter or places to be used as school, then you will be happy that at least, our Lao students have a place to study.

The government know very well about these situations, however, money and know-how are insufficient.

agree with you but to say that we have no money ...i don`t think that it is just a question of money but it is the ignorance of districts and villagers leaders who don`t see the importance of the primery education, they don`t see that all successful higher education are based on the very start and if you fail at the start the following years will fail too...
we have wood in every village right from north to south parts of laos, just cut and sell it ? why they don`t saw it on place and built up school and other instruments instead of leaving the school in a such deplorable situation as we see in the pictures? ...

regards.

Hello everybody

I must agree with the 5th comment, this is not comparison between Lao and Sweden, but just to point out how things were done in that country, and because Sweden is one of the top 5 country in every domains....that means Sweden has something good that Lao can learn from, not comparison because in reality we could not do that.
Ignorance is part of the problem, of the things we see in the 2 photos. The fifth comment pointed out there are plenty of wood in Lao why don't we turn wood into proper tables and chairs and schools for villages, because schools are for many lao young generations not just for 1 generation but one generation to the next. If local villages chiefs or POR BARN are dum and ignorant then LAO leaders must see them, Lao Prime minister or President or Lao authority must have vision about this. You build your human resource in very first year of young lao.....otherwise it's too late.

If i were the prime misnister of Laos, I will provide the highest salaly to smart
lao students who want to be a teacher. Smart teachers know how to develop and find budget for their own school. The problem of Lao school now is that
many teachers are still hungry and they have no time to think much how to
effectively teach their students.

But as I know most lao people who could afford to buy car, they always spend less than 10 thousand american dollar. Small Korean car assembled somewhere in Asia, only costs about 30 to 40 million kips, (in 2005 ) is true believe me. Benz car perhaps only rich people like Tang freres, or owner of ITECC or people with succeful business not for even lao middle class, not yet I think.
Still a kind of sore eyes to see in one hand kids in rural area attending classes, without a proper table, and next thing is a topic about very expensive car.
In Australia where I live BMW, Benz...etc are regarded as Luxury cars, if you drive these sort of cars, prepare to pay expensive insurrances, registration....the more expensive car you drive the more you have to pay for NRMA, and isurrance....not fun, if you want to look rich, prepare to work your **** out for it, prepare to live with Loan Stress it's real.
