Lao students study at Hue University (KPL) A total of 145 Lao students are studying at Hue University in central Thua Thien-Hue province under cooperation programmes between the two countries and Lao provinces, said a university official.
According to VNA, Tran Xuan An, who is in charge of students affairs at Hue University, said Lao students are hard working and eager to join cultural and sports events.
The Thua Thien-Hue Provincial People’s Committee is planning to build a boarding house for Lao students in 2008. The project, with an investment capital of more than 9.9 billion VND (623,000 USD) can accommodate 180 students.
Founded in 1957, Hue University has seven member schools, one faculty, and eight training and research centres, employing 1,500 staff.-
Good to hear that LAO's students are studying hard, this means you will have good results for your study. Where ever you study, do it hard it's good. I remember former priminister Lee Kwan Diew of Singapour, he used to advise young singapoureans ' study hard is good for your future and good for your country' and look at Singapour, it is one of the best country in Asia.
Again ' The phrase study hard ' spoken by Lee Kwan Diew of Singapour was in one of a BBC document about Singapour in the 90s, recent australian reports about Singapour's education system it stated even ahead of the australian one, well in the 90s Singapour government already connect education programs to students at home, via internet of course....at that time in Australia this sort of programs virtually non exist.
I am not sure about study smart....I have not heard about this phrase in Australia at all, of course I am now australian citizen with asian back ground. The meaning of Study hard means You Put a lot of resources and times and effort in your study that's all. But study smart a kind of strange....Being smart person but again whether in Australian Broadcast or normal daylife I have not heard about this phrase. Being a smart person I heard this phrase but study smart.
I would support the idea of studying hard rather than studying smart. No one would be born with knowledges, even the smart or talent person. The more person studies hard, the more he gains knowledges, that is a truth. Some may understand that no need to study hard, study just for passing university requirement, that's a bad idea. Like these people cannot succeed in their life. I am really impressed by some famous people said: "Usually, we study in university for 4 years, but if you can spend that short time like you spend for 6 or 8 years to gain knowledges, that is the only way that you will become a knowledgable person". That means a good student always need to work hard, no matter you smart or clever. Yes, I really agree with you about Singapore. Mr. Lee Kuan Yew always tells his people to study and work hard. No wonder their country is one of best countries in Asia, if not in the world. I know this quite well because I am here in Singapore.
