Laos, Thailand agree on “Hmong”



(KPL) Provincial governors of Laos and Thailand have agreed to have a bilateral resolution for 152 hmongs and those in Heuay Nam Khao, Khao Khoh district of Phetsaboun of Thailand which Thailand has said they were illegal immigrants to Thailand.

The announcement was made at the 7th meeting of the governors of bordering provinces of Laos and Thailand held on 15-17 August in Phetsabury province of Thailand.

Laos’ Minister of Public Security, Mr Thongbanh Sengaphone, led the Lao delegation while the delegation of Thailand was led by Minister of Security of the Kingdom of Thailand Mr Ary Vongarya with the participation of the governors of the bordering provinces of two countries and representatives of relevant sectors.

At the meeting, the both sides agreed to urge the concerned sectors of the both countries to speed up the completion of survey and demarcation at the areas, which are now in disputes. The both sides agreed that the provinces of both countries have to maintain the completed demarcation works and educate their people to live and practice their livelihood within their national territories.
 
The facilitation of the people’s immigration of the both countries, the upgrade of checkpoints, the possibilities of opening other checkpoints and the efforts of concerned officials of the both countries in tackling the narcotic smuggling along border were also raised at the meeting.

The meeting also discussed the bank erosion and bank embankment along Mekong river, sand and stones extraction along Mekong and Heuang rivers, the cooperation on workers and economy between the bordering provinces of the two countries and the exchange visit of the both sides.

I don`t think that this agreement would please some UN and US Humanright organization officials who want in any way to stop sending back to their homeland.

I don't want to read this news, it is quite strange just minority group make trouble to UN, USA.
