(KPL) Over 80 percent of construction work of Souphanouvong University has been achieved since its start in 2004. The university is expected to be opened late this year.
A member of the university management disclosed this week that the Government of the Republic of Korea rendered support for the construction in the form of a loan of US$ 22.7 million and the Lao Government contributes US$ 5.7 million to the construction.
Souphanouvong University, the second university of Laos, located in Donekao village, Luang Prabang district, the northern province of the same name, covers 126 ha.
Upon completion, the university will take over 1,000 students, mainly from northern provinces.
