A signing ceremony to establish the Movie Laos Television between Lao National Television Station and MV television Laos Co., LTD was held on 28 December at the National Cultural Hall in Vientiane.
The agreement signed by Dr Bounchoum Vongphet, Acting Director General of the Lao National Television Station and Ms Alina Mahavong, President of the MV television Laos Co., LTD is aim to entertain people with movie program, short stories, program for youth development, sport, music and agricultural and social development program.
For the news program, It will also receive the transmission news from the National Television . The MVL Television Laos project with the total investment of US$2 million is invested about 84% by MV television Laos Co., LTD and 16% by Lao National Television. The project with 30 year concession will be 3 years for pilot operation and then the both sides will jointly estimate the operation.
According to the agreement, from the third to the 10th year, the MVL Television Laos will response 50% of satellite rental fee and it then will pay 100% for satellite rental fee.
The project will take 18 months for construction and about 22 countries are able to receive its signal.
