i like to think that my fellow hmong are an important part of the lao society and friends.
the basic freedom of movement from and to laos should be granted
to you as it is allowed to some citizens of laos and foreign travellers.confuse

i cannot bear the thought of holding anyone or group of women and children hostage.
there must be a heart based solution to all who have suffered.
if the pdr would allow me a moment for my voice and their ears, i would say, please do not further inflict pain and suffering to this hmong group.

i would urge them that so much good can be created by granting them safe passage to other countries.
so much good can be had when you are in a position to give, in this case a second chance in life for the hmong families.confuse

i would remind the pdr that this act of goodwill is something the pdr and lao people continue to receive and benefit from everyday when other countries
come to laos and help with bridge and road building, logistic and humanitarian, and financial aid.

the pdr can make this one small gesture yes?confuse

Hmong Hmong HMONG I'm sick of hearing about Hmong. Nothing against them but most of the people forgot that there's 48 other ethnic tribes in LAOS other than HMONG. Ask yourself does Thailand considered Hmong their people? What about Vietnam, there's Hmong people over there. I guess only Pathet Lao acknowledge their exsitence. Not just recently but back to our King and Queen periods. When they migrated to Laos from where ever they left, they was granted land in the mountains by the KING.

Now back to other tribes, Mien people doesn't seem to have any issue's in Laos... Akha they're fine and same w/ Kha Kadai and the rest. I just wanted a Hmong person reading this to realize that, we Khon Lao has nothing against you. I was told by many Cacausian I met when it comes to Lao Hmong conversation, we Khon Lao hate you. WTF, what makes you think we hate you as person, as human. To me, you guys wanted to much of what we can give. You sold your soul to fight along side the American during the Vietnam war. Most of you wasn't even in the Royal Lan Xang Military. Yet you parade around United State proudly that you were and at the same time fighting along side the Americans. YOU were paid to fight, you weren't fighting to keep Lan Xang as one, not for the cause, but for MONEY. When spoken to news media there's not even one word about fighting for your birth land but only fighting to save an American soldier. Saving lives good, but don't twist the story. " Pen Ngoua Leum Tien, Bor Ou Fah Suong Pan Din Tum"

What happen when the Hmong doesn't get what they want or doesn't like something??? They protest and that's cool w/ me, cause it's freedom and lot of Laotian should learn from this. The thing that isn't so cool is  bring up same old story over and over and over like a scratch record. " We the HMONG people fought hard along side the American. See the American as our brother in the war"
I'm sorry but it's kind of like when the some uneducated African American person throw a RACE card at you. "is it cause i'm black?" same reverse psychology just a different people

Example in Fresno, what was that all about. Planning on over throwing Pathet Lao. What a terrorist move... so enough is enough, that SN. Al Franken...lol of course it's a political stunt. He's not sincere w/ you people. He needs vote... out of all the S.E. Communities in America.... HMONG as the most babies = most people = VOTES. Hopefully it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out.

Oh ! the US senator took a very long time to recognize those hmong as refugees, 4 - 5 years.
I'd like to know how old are the 158 hmong right now ... the indochina war ended 35 years ago, so those who fought with american soldiers must be at least 50-60 . so , those who don't reach 50 are outlaw.
Let the Lao PDR government the right to decide whether it is legal or not to let those people go...
They go, they come it is all the same to me...If the US or other countries want to take cake of them ...let it be !

Do they ever do the paper work (passport) or do meo way, as walking to wherever they can reach?  C-m on people it's 21rst  century now.  Any country has the rules.
Anyone of you, who post the comment here tries to discredit the Laos government, when they try to hard to do other countries do - civilization.
To hmong people,  you can not walk to 21 rst century by avoiding to be people in the same century, sorry PERIOD.

Hmong has a bad luck to live in Laos's land and was helping the CIA fough against the communist , If the communist lost the War, Laos would probably control the Hmong leaders?

Hmong in vietnam, Thailand and china have better luck than Hmong in Laos!!!what you think?

Yes you absolutely right that United Nation and over hundred something countries  have the  right, But you have to know that the only 5 members have the  veto power like: United State of America; United Kingdom of great britain and Northern Ireland; the French Repulic; The Russian federalation; and the people  Repulic of China.. these 5 countries that have the power to say thing. But, U.S.A is pretty much run the table and do as i asy not as i do. see that.. the U.S gave my taxes dollars to the UN almost 2 billion a year for free to run the Organization and as well as gave to the  Nato too...

The one who said it was Senator Al Franken. And yes he most certainly does have the right, it's the first amendment in our constitution, the first of what we call our bill of rights. Freedom of speach, we can say whatever we want.

Oh ! I wonder why the UN don't take all the 8 000 hmong to the third countries as they fled Laos as political refugees ? they have the right of UN protection. Really, I don't understand why Laos accepted those people who left the country of their own, threw away their lao identity and didn't't want to live in laos anymore ??? political issue ? Thai policy ? after their rapatriation the US urge lao to let them go to the US ??? why not when they still were refugees in Thai camp, as they came back to laos they are lao people if they want to go out of the country they have to ask visa from the lao MOFA...
