I'm beginning to think Lao people are the most uncreative people...musicians and producers at least.
I know they listen to music from Thailand and America in Laos, yet every new hit is the same thing over and over and over and over. The lack of creative talent is painfully evident after hearing the 50th song with a 4/4 time signature with a slow tempo, overused piano progression, sappy love lyrics, crappy mis-matched distorted guitars, and not to mention the god awful synthetic drums.
Lao pop is like every calendar and pageant with traditionally dressed (and rather unattractive) ladies, like every commercial with shots of Patuxai, a waterfall, and Taht Luang, like the dozens of shops with the exact same carved souvenir products: MONOTONOUS AND BORING
Believe me, I've tried so hard to enjoy and appreciate Lao pop, and though there have been a few exceptions, all of it is uncreative, unintelligent, unimpressive garbage from a musical standpoint.
^ Since you're such a hater, then don't listen to our music. You know other people like Cambodians and Thais also feel the same way about their own music industry? That it's just the same music crap over and over again. Do you know why "Pop music" is called Pop music? Pop music uses the same form and formula over and over again.
