เมื่อวันที่ 9 ธ.ค. ผู้สื่อข่าวรายงานว่า นักร้องสาวเสียงคุณภาพจากบริษัท อาร์เอส จำกัด ( มหาชน) ปาน-ธนพร แวกประยูร ได้รับเลือกจากสถานทูตลาว ให้เป็นตัวแทนประเทศไทยไปโชว์พลังเสียงในพิธีปิดซีเกมส์ครั้ง ที่ 25 “เวียงจันทน์เกมส์ 2009” ประเทศสาธารณรัฐประชาธิปไตยประชาชนลาว (สปป.ลาว) ซึ่งการทำหน้าที่เป็นตัวแทนประเทศไทยไปโชว์ครั้งนี้ ปานได้นำเพลง "ใจนำทาง" และอัญเชิญเพลง "ส้มตำ" เพลงพระราชนิพนธ์ในสมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ สยามบรมราชกุมารี ไปขับร้องร่วมกับนักร้องจากชาติสมาชิกซีเกมส์ในพิธีปิด เย็นวันที่ 18 ธ.ค.

ปาน - ธนพร กล่าวว่า การที่ได้รับเลือกเป็นตัวแทนประเทศไทยไปโชว์ในพิธีปิดในครั้งนี้ เพราะว่าทางสถานทูตลาวเห็นว่าปานเป็นที่รู้รักของพี่น้องประชาชนลาว ซึ่งฟังแค่นี้ก็ดีใจแล้ว การที่ตั้งใจทำงานอย่างเต็มที่แล้วมีคนเห็นคุณค่า เห็นความตั้งใจของเรานั่นคือที่สุดแล้ว และยิ่งคราวนี้ได้เป็นตัวแทนประเทศไทยไปโชว์ ยิ่งทำให้รู้สึกว่าจากที่ผ่านมาทุ่มเทให้กับงานเต็มร้อย มาวันนี้จะทำให้เกินร้อย ทำให้สมกับที่ทุกคนเห็นความสำคัญ และให้เกียรติปานได้ไปยืนบนเวทีระดับอาเซียน

"สำหรับเพลงที่จะเอาไปร้องก็คือเพลง“ใจนำทาง”เป็นเพลงประจำโครงการกำลังใจของพระองค์ภาซึ่งเป็นเพลงที่ให้กำลังใจ สุดท้ายก็อยากฝากถึงแฟนๆ ชาวไทยอย่าลืมส่งกำลังใจไปเชียร์นักกีฬาทีมชาติไทยของเราด้วยนะคะ" นักร้องคุณภาพสาว กล่าว.
