I thought sex is not good, even thinking about, when it deals with Buddhism. But why the wall in the temples in Laos, have such kind of paintings and scrupture. It is sex oriented
maybe because if we're really honest about it, sex IS part of life. otherwise, not anyone of us would be here... they were depicted as such because sex is, whether you like it or not, a part of our daily realities.
Sex is part of our life, its part of nature. Sex in itself is not bad because it is a necessity to ensure continuity of human existence. In every religion, sex is one subject matter that is discussed because people need to be guided on how to do it, when to do it, where to do it and to whom to have sex with. What makes it bad is when sex is used as a form of abuse, or when done by two or more people just for pleasure without regards to feelings of morals, when it is used as a source of income, when it is used to prove superiority or when done in the inappropriate place, because sex is supposed to be a private activity between two couples. Its very clear in Budda's teaching, you can see in the mural, sex is potrayed as an activity between a man and a woman, not by man with another man or by a woman with another woman.

A very carefull look at the raised relief figure in the second photo is giving the surfer signal with her thumb and pinky finger. This indicates a signal of "hang loose" kind of like sabai sabai or everything is very much ok. I think she is enjoying.

If you study Buddha's teachings, you will realise that he did not specify whether sex should only be between opposite genders. He also did not say that sex between people of the same gender is wrong.
For the third precept: Kamesu micchacara veramani sikkhapadam samadiyami (undertake the precept to abstain from sensual misconduct)
kamesu - sensual pleasures (not only sex, but gluttony, etc) micchacara - misconduct veramani - abstain from sikkhapadam - precept samadiyami - undertake
the important point is that sex between people should not happen such that it causes harm to any of them (e.g. exploitation of underaged minor, marital rape, etc) or to others (e.g. adultery). Their gender does not matter.
Long time ago....people used to have penises like dogs with knots and. Buddha got tired of missing his breakfast because villagers got stuck like dogs during sex in the morning and thus late for the morning alm collection. So Buddha swap people's penises with dog.
LOL I wish Buddha could swap it back. I missed our original penises.
