I think it is good for Lao Nok, who cares too much on money, work all days and finally could not have any girlfriends. In the end, they have to go back Laos, and ask someone to be their wife, eventhough they have no love on each other.

The truth is despite now is the 21st century, arranged marriage is still being practiced not only in China but among muslims and rich families as well. one of the reasons is to keep the family weath in a small circle, to promote peace between clans/tribes (muslims), or to gain power.
