thais and viet investors are competing to invest in cambodia, why not lao, what's is wrong?. Viet investors just come to our country and take out the natural resources, not so benefits the local people.
Vietnam, Thailand increase investments in Cambodia

Investments from Vietnam and Thailand to Cambodia increased by 85.3 and 87.2 percent respectively in the first half of this year, despite a sharp fall from other countries, according to the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC).
Vietnam’s total investment capital has increased from US$16.7 million to US$178 million and Thailand’s from US$22.7 million to US$178 million, says Young Heng, a senior official from the CDC.
Vietnamese investment has focused on such areas as rubber plantation, post and telecommunications and transportation while Thai investment has been poured into sugar processing projects including the construction of two sugar mills worth US$158 million.
These investments will help generate jobs and contribute to boosting economic development in Cambodia, says the CDC official.
Because Laos is too small, 7 millions people in Laos compare to 15 millions in Cambodia. Also the economy in Cambodia has been rising really fast in the last few years.
Hey... nothing to do about the number of population OK, otherwise they will invest in China with biggest population.
The ONLY one reason that these two countries wanted from Cambodia is "Oil" that newly discovered on Cambodian sea (Gulf of Thailand), unfortunately Cambodian government cope with French investors on this resource...
So, both (Thais and VNs) might be disappointed by now !
thai and vietnam invest in cambodia because of oil? you gotta be kidding brother. Fron what i know, they have invested heavily in service sector like bank and telecom. Cambodia is a democratic country, that is the big different between this country and us. More over less corruption and more independent in term of political, m sure u know what i mean.
