(KPL) A Korean company will invest US$15 million in the construction of a new trade centre on 5.5 ha at Nong Chanh area, Nong Chanh village, Sisatthanark district, Vientiane Capital.
The Korean Taekwondo Industry Federation signed a memorandum of understanding with the Lao Government on 5 August at the Donchanh Palace, Vientiane Capital. The company will conduct a feasibility study, design and develop a master plan for Nong Chanh north, and it will write an economic analysis and the evaluation of environment and social impact in order to develop an infrastructure system.
Under the MoU, the Government has granted a 50-year lease of Nong Chanh area to the South Korean company. The construction of the complex will take 54 months.
The MOU was signed by the Director of the Planning and Investment Department, Dr. Bounphone Sisoulath, Chief of Sisattanark district, Mr. Oudone Saimountry, and the Chairman of Korean Taekwondo Industry Federation, Mr. Na Hyun Duk and its director Mr. Pak Kye Hee in the witnesses of Deputy Vientiane Mayor Dr. Anouphab Tounalom and officials concerned.
I don't think it will be too high as in the photo. If as in the picture, it must be a mega project to ever have in Lao. But I don't at this time will happen.
Maybe just an office building with a few storey and a bit modern design that's it.
ha ha funny. Why not? It could be good. Imagine going to the top of the building and seing the whole of Laos 360 degrees unobscured.
because we don't have enough fire truck, if the building is too tall, it's worse . there is a fire truck in thakhek, when it occurs the fire, the car goes to Mekong river to add the water, after finished adding the water, the house is gone, i can' imagine if the building is taller than 20 floors.

Ok you got a point there. But maybe the engineers and architects who made the plan probably have consideredsuch situation and will incorporate in the design of the building mecahnisms to prevent rapid spread of fire.Meaning to contain it in one floor or one area already considering the current capacity of Lao.
Have you heardabout fire springklers and smoke detectors? Many tall buildings build fire sprinklers in every room and every corner and it is automatically triggered to sprout water once the smoke detector received signs of smoke. THe primary purpose of that is to contain the fire. Plus there should be a lot fo fire extinguisher in all floors.
Oryou may suggest they will install a fire hydrant at the vicinity of the building so that firetruck dont need to go back and forth to Mekong river to fetch water. Im sure planners are smart enough to think about all these things, knowing how progresive Korea is now.
Sojust enjoy when that buillding is indeed erected!
No, that not the same picture with Cambodia one. this is the one in Cambodia, also build buy S. Korea GS E&C company. it called IFC (International Financial Complex) under construction in Phnom Penh and scheduled to complete in 2012. it costs about 1 billion $ projects. with the tallest building is 52 floors.
