(KPL) A world leading fashion company, Cherry Body Fashion MFY will expand its producing base from China to Savan-Seno Special Economic Zone (SEZ), Savannakhet province.
The expansion of its producing base in Laos is influenced by the generalized system of preferences (GSP) with Europe and the USA.
The senior delegation of company plans to visit Laos to discuss on the investment at the end of this month and expected that Cherry Body Fashion MFY Company would ink an investment agreement in SEZ.
“Many countries keep an eye on investing in the SEZ, due to investment promotion policy of SEZ enables to export more than 70 percent of products,” Mr Bouakham Sisoulath, SEZ Governor said. “A 20-hectare in SEZ is available for the Cherry Body Fashion MFY Company”.
“If this company invests in this area, it will create more than 4,000 jobs to local people,” he continued.
“We are now facing with shortage of unskilled workers that should be quickly resolved,” he added. “So, we are now accelerating to develop skills for unskilled workers”.
At the present, Vietnamese investors proposed to lease more than 1,000 hectares of land areas for the investment in the SEZ.
Skillful workers are needed in the industrialized countries Good sign to Laos anyway and I heard that Thai also invest in Cambodia because the labour force are cheaper than Thailand (I hate using this words to human), then they export products to Thailand.
Laos will work with the three neighbors countries such as Thailand, Vietnam and China. (giants and superpower) It will be good to Laos but Laos need to be careful
That will benefit Savannakhet. Visiting Savannakhet was a weird but unforgettable experience. There were times of the day when the city would look like a ghost town - plus there were so many stray dogs roaming around, I almost became dog food. I was just lucky. But the people were very nice.
