(KPL) A Republic of Korea investor invested US$ 5 million for the construction of a hotel, a resort, a golf course and a tourist site in Borikhamsay province.
Head of Domestic and Foreign Investment Promotion Division, Planning and Investment Service of Bolikhamsay province, Mr. Vivat Chaleunsouk said that the construction of the whole complex is scheduled to be completed by 2013.s
For the first phase, a seven-storey hotel would be built on a nine-hectare site, located on the banks of the Huay Sied river, Pakxan district.
This is now an ongoing project as its construction commenced in 2008 and Mr. Vivat confirmed that the completion date would be some time in 2010.
The construction work of the second phase, to be made up of a resort, golf course and tourist site would begin in 2010 and end in 2013 it would on a 400 hectare site and located near the hotel.
In 2008, 50,000 tourists from Laos and overseas visited Bolikhamsay province and a detailed look at the figures show that only 6,400 of them came from overseas.
Perhaps there's no more land around VTE for them to build a golf course/resort. Plus, the korean is building one golf course right now on Route 13 going South to Savanhnakhet. It will be use for golf tournament during SEA Games. I think it is about 20-25 Km outside center of town.
Borikhamsay probably have alot more to offer as far as land.. view.. and the nature. That's what most toursits want anyway.. Most of them wants to get away from people.

Built one Golf Course Resort how many amount of tree will be cut it off? THey also using strong chemical to make the grass to be green and protecting from insect to eat grass!! and that chemical will flow into the canals or rivers or into neigbor rice fields...you can imagin how worst things gonna happen to local people.
But anyway, the otherside..it will help to creat many jobs fro local people to work in there.
