In 2008, for instance, Vietnam more than doubled domestic distribution, opening its 100th movie screen (for 85 million people), while neighboring Laos produced its first commercial feature in 33 years ("Good Morning, Luang Prabang"). I wonder what will be the next movie for Laos in 2009 and who is going to sponsor it.
What kind of Lao movie you want Laos to have in 2009? and why? Romantic, comedy, scary movie... ?
A Pathetlao soldier fallen in love with a farmer woman in the Namnua, Huaphan province during the vietnam war. Love War History Culture American Bomb vietnam relationship Family Friend
will be great movie in 2009, but the film maker at least spend lots money to make the film
why would someone want to watch a movie about history thats boring...
i say make a movie for each age group
14-20 year old: something they can relate to. school love story, friendship, (something like pid term yai hua jai wa woon, fun wun ai joob, etc.) but make it so it catches the lao teenage audience (and maybe some thai audience)
20-30: horror, romance, comedy, action, maybe a fantasy film about lao mythical creatures.
i think they should make movies that are current. not something that is made to just talk about history or tourism. it wont grab a lot of attention.
my criticism of sbd luang phabang is that it kind of bored me. it focused more on promoting tourism and not enough on entertainment. the love story was interesting though.
