HANOI, May 10, 2009 (Dow Jones Commodities News via Comtex) -- Vietnam's Esaco Co. has signed an agreement with the Laotian government to explore for copper ore in the country, Vietnamese state media said Monday. Esaco will invest $7 million to explore for copper ore on 396 square kilometers in Laos' Attapu province, the Thoi Bao Kinh Te newspaper said. The report said the exploration work will take five years.

Hhhmmmm just copper only? I wonder how much the lao government gets for signing this deal. So? after 5 years, they all will leave and Laos will get stuck with all the mess?
