My friends in Vientiane eat well and drink like a king in Vientiane, but I am surprised to know about this news.

The Lao People's Democratic Republic is classified as a Least Developed Country (LDC) and Low Income Food Deficit Country (LIFDC). The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) has been successfully running a school feeding program since 2002, in close cooperation with the Lao Ministry of Education.

Laos is an ethnically diverse country, with many of the 49 officially recognized groups living in isolated areas and many people in these groups who cannot fluently speak the national language, Lao. The quality and levels of access to educational services are poor, especially in the vast mountainous and remote areas of the country. Many villages do not have complete primary schools (grades 1 to 5). Children often have to walk long distances to be able to even complete primary education.

We talk about education and school feeding in the Lao People's Democratic Republic (PDR) with Ms Karin Manente, WFP country director in Vientiane.

if you read the article carefully it said about the rural people that living in isolated area of the country that is suffer with food... not your friend in vte.

To him Laos PDR is only Vientiane. Every place in the country is not Laos that is why he doesnt think it doesnt exist.

some farmer got less fish on their rice filed and the river,especially the large rivers such as Mekong and Sei Bang Fai in Laos. People hunt the wild animal for food and search for the bamboo , We live with Nature!!! some family are really poor and can't find the foods from the forest anymore, that's why many people in the remote area don't have food.

Yeah when the dams go up on the mekong these people definitely will have a hard time to find food such as fish and their homes might even be flooded!

10 % rich with corrupton 10 % business people 80% poor no income I m talking laos country 80% they work hard but less money no welfar at all no job for every one , this is poor country top 100 in the world
