No, I am not satisfied with the development of Lao Music -Protect the Traditional Lao folks and Promote them to the World -offer a good opportunity to Lao teenager throughout the country, let them know and give them the music lesson - provide a good policy for Music business in Laos, give them more free
Of course, How the Music company do to let the people love their song? Just take it slow and smart, if the song , Music and performance are good, I am sure that people will accept Lao song as Thai song, it needs some time.
I think the music IS moving forward but it is marching to the world beat. What I mean is Laos music scene is heavily influence by the world music. I do wish there are more promoting of our traditional and Laoderm musical styles. When I listen to classic such as Voradeth, I automatically know it is Lao music. When I listen today music I don't hear that. Yes, they are speaking Lao but the music is not Lao influenced. I think much has to do with current Lao population. There are huge population of people under 30. Maybe that has to do with the popularity of rap and r&b style which is dominance on Laos airwave. I do feel sometime little Laos is in a rush to be like the rest of the world and s result sacrifice, maybe not intentionally, its own traditional style.
well my input is that even though its important to preserve lao culture with traditional folk music and such, there is still room for modern music. there will still be people who loves folk music and there will be people who love the modern.
i made that video because i wanted to promote our younger generations music since we all know that morlum exists right?
