100 Euro = $135.53 USD.. You can buy alot of food and beers for $135. The European probably can't buy as much stuffs as U.S. for that amount of $$. Most of the stuffs in U.S. are alot cheapers.
-i can buy about 66L of gas for my car -i can pay a cheap restaurant for 10 people (10 euros/persons) or 3 persons for a good restaurant (30euros/person), or one person in a very high end restaurant (about 100 euros for one person.... but not the most luxury ones) - i cannot rent any home: for my small 2 rooms+kitchen+bathroom (35m2), i pay 620 euros/month - I can buy about 5 to 10 simple clothes during discount week (2x1month per year... 10 to 20 euros for each simple clothe), or one good quality clothe duriing non-discount time (100euros for a very good quality pants or dress or simple suit...) - i can buy food+usual products (soap....) for 2 persons for one week (we spend 400 euros/500 euros per month for fooud and common products) - I can buy 55 tickets to go to Paris buy train+metro (22 return tickets) - I can buy an entry-level adult-size bicycle - I can buy about 14 pocket books or 3 high quality colorfull books - I can buy an entry-level digital camera - I can get about 3 month of mobile phone communications (2-3 hours/months) - I can pay 3 nights in a entry-lever hotel or one night+diner+breakfast in a good mid-class hotel - I can pay one pair of notorious sport shoes (Nike, Rebooks...) - i can pay one ticket to cross France by train (paris-Marseille) ... depend when i buy it and when i travel.. single ticket or return ticket. - I can buy 2 new tires for my small car.... but with service, the cost is about 150 euros. - I can buy about 30kg of fruits or vegetables (about 3 euros/kg.... depend what kind.... some are more expensive, some less)
but only one of those things.... you have to choose.
For you information, the minimum salary in France for full time job (35 hours/week) is about 900 euros/month.... and it's very hard to live with only 900 euros/month for a couple or small family (even for a single person)
Would you show me around town? If I ever get a chance to go vacationing in France. I better start looking for a part-time job and save up for that vacation. Paris, France is one of my must see destination before I die.
