(KPL) The National University of Laos held an opening ceremony to declare the commencement of its first master’s course in business in Vientiane on 16 September.
This new course was made possible by the cooperation between the Faculty of Economics and Business of this university and the Laos-Japan Cooperation Centre on Human Resources.
The ceremony was chaired by the Deputy Minister of Education, Mr. Lytou Bouapao, the Japanese Ambassador to Laos, Mr. Masaaki Maya****a, and the country representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Mr. Hiroaki Takashima, and the Deputy Rector of the National University of Laos, Dr. Saykhong Saynathy. Other officials also attended this ceremony. This course is getting technical support from JICA, which is involved in cooperating with Laos in many fields.
The master’s course in business is for the purpose of producing a higher level of human resources by NUOL so that its graduates would be able to have a sense of proportion of the theory of the economics, business and the real world: factors that are important to deal with the complex economics of the world. This is an 18-month course and lectures would be held in the evening. The first batch of 35 students would read 15 subjects, starting from 17 September 2008 and it would end in June 2010.
