WHO CARES WHAT THAI THINK OF LAOS. WHAT IS IMPORTANT IS WHAT LAOS THINK OF LAOS.
THAI AS CULTURE IS DETORIATING. WE SHOULD DISTANCE OURSELVES FROM THAILAND. WE SHOULD BE PROUD OF LAOS AND CREAT A POSITIVE CHANGE IN LAOS. WE HAVE A GREAT OPPITUNITY TO TELL THE NEW GENERATION OF TOURIST AND FOREIGNERS ABOUT OUR GREAT COUNTRY. THEY ARE FALLING INLOVE WITH OUR COUNTRY EACH AND EVERY DAY. AND NOT FOR THE WRONG REASON. AND LETS KEEP IT THAT WAY.
WE DONT WANT TO BE KNOWN AS THE SEX TOURIST CAPITAL OF THE WORLD THAILAND.
THAI ONLY CARE ABOUT LAOS IS BECAUSE THE WORLD IS LOOKING AT LAOS ALOT CLOSER NOW. IF NOBODY CARE, I DONT THINK THE THAIS WILL EITHER. IT NEVER HAPPEN AND NEVER WILL.
SO LAOS ALL AROUND THE WORLD, DONT FALL INLOVE WITH OTHER CULTURES BESIDES YOUR OWN. I'VE ON UTUBE AND ALL THE YOUNG LAOS PEOPLE RAVING ON ABOUT HOW WE ARE RELATED TO THAIS, SHAN, AND YUANNE. WHO CARES.
FALL IN LOVE WITH LAOS AND CARE MORE ABOUT LAOS. TRUST ME, THE OTHER COUNTRY ARE NOT TALKING ABOUT LAOS AS MUCH A LAOTION ARE TALKING ABOUT THEM. STOP IT, YOU CAN DO IT!
I think this era is the era of cooperation. Laos should make good friends with all countries around us. See this video as the example of good relationship between Laos and Thailand about the flour industry

When I was a little kid back in Laos, I saw how they make kow poone noodle. The smell is nothing stink. Iti s just different. The fresh Kow Puune taste so good. Better than the dry one we buy from the store.
Like a brother. I want that both country are like brother.
But, I think that Thai people don't see Lao people like that. I think, they think that we are poor people, not developped and I think that they must feel superior.
Sorry, I don't understand first video, what he says ? :)

Thai People think Lao like Brother too.
and Thai call Laos are "Baan Pee Mueng Nong"(Brother Land).
"Brother land". They put me in the barbe wire fence like these in the refugee camp. My father have to go begged the monk outside the camp for food to feed his family. I remember crying, when i saw my mother begged for a bag of rice from her own relatives in the camp. When me and my sister lined up for food incorrectly they whipped me and kicked me. I was the same age as these girl. A brother would never do that to you.
They are not my brother.... i would never ever call a Thai person my brother.
I live-down in NakhonPhanom , Thailand , I remember what happened in Na-Pho Lao Refugee Camp 30 years ago . From 1975 - 1987 more than 40,000 laotian refugee live safely & happily there before leaving for another country and become LaoNork , Laofrench , LaoUS , LaoCanadian , LaoAusie as today. I don't want to remind this but have to.
I was just a 7-8 years olds kid at the camp in Nong Khai. The camp didn't have a fence like the one in your pictures. There were no beating as I remember them and I just asked my parents and they didn't remember any beating either. In fact there are only few guards but they mainly stay at the entrance. I see people go out to gather vegetable, bamboo, and bugs. There are people going out side in the wood to practice martial art too. No guards ever did anything to us. Little kids like me was able to go virtually anywhere outside. I walk out pass the guard to go to temple at other village, fishing, and even work on those truck that take people to-from downtown anytime I wanted.
The Thai guards only have problem with Vietnamese. They don't like them.
The only problem I had was they did put us in a prison along with drug dealer and murderer before we were put in a refugee camp. I remember they put my father in a different section along with the men while my mom, little sister, and I was put in the women section.
When you're down and troubled and you need some loving care............ you've got a friend In the past 33 years , Thailand hosted millions of refugee from our neighborhood , Why Thailand.
I dont trust Thai people. I wonder if the role was reverse, we would treat them like they had treated us. My dad hired a boat from Thailand to get us across. They were gonna threw me and my family of the boat unless my parents and my aunt gave them all of our belongings. We had already paid them, before we got on the boat. There were rumors going around that they threw a bunch of families off the boat, becauce they do not have anymore money to gave them. When we got to Thailand, they threw me and my dad in prison together, seperting us from my mom and sister. I did not think we would see them again.
I think Thai people are driven by monies and greed.
I think Laos and Thai people are very different. I think Laos people care about the Thais more then the other way around.
Despite my uneasy feeling towards Thai and Thailand. I still feel the ancestral connection with them, through our language and tradition. But now their tradition is somewhat different from Laos, which is good. Its good to have a distinction. Laos no matter who is in charge, family and tradition will always come first. Which is why i love being Laos, i have a sense of who i am.

We lived in a PRISON and REFUGEE CAMP. I dont remember it being SAFE nor HAPPY. Thailand live up to their oblication us a nation to provide prison and refugee camp for people like me and others. And i thank them.
I notice even now at the Airport. When the Thais hear you speak Laos, they still ignore you and pretend they dont understand you. Even though 90% of Airport worker could understand Laos. But when you speak English, then they give you their time.
But i'm thinking in my head, i'm way better than you, i live in America and i'm just passing through to go see my homeland "LAOS"
Out of all the people in the world that i dont trust as a Laos person.
1. Thailand (They treat us like we are second to them, they will stabbed you in the back)
2. China ( What are their motive in Laos, its a small country)
3. Vietnman (if they could they make Laos part of Vietnam, if not already, i'm Laos, but i cant not relate to them, thru language or culture)
4. French (They are Whimps. They rather run then fight. They gave our land away to Thailand)
5. USA (they dropped more bomb on Laos then any other countries. They are the first country to dropped a nuclear bomb on a populated city, that kill 100s of thoundsand of INNOCENT people.
i also dont hate them and dont trust them, history has shown we cannot trust them but this is the age of the future n we should have business partners not friends, i do think thais look down towards us laos people thats y no matter where i go i always speak thai even to thai person and then i make a dumb face when they speak thai, they really do from my own experiences think there better then laos but i just do it right back to them and make them look stupid for speaking thai. Promote Laos, speak laos, and show our culture to every one, make other people understand us not the other way around. Cheeerrs!!!! all i see is good in the future for laos lets help!!!
"Some of you talk like you would rather just build a big wall around your houses and never come out. Your thinking is not very intelligent."
Thais and Laos are forever bind through our blood and history. Laos people understand that, and many Laos are hanging on to the ideas that someday Thai people would see us in the same light. How long are we gonna wait and what for?.
According to Thais. GOD created the Thai people then poop out the Laotian. Be proud of Laos and who we are, and just throw the poop back at them.
We should and must do business with Thailand. Business is Business. Likewise with other countries. The problem is that a lot of Laos people think to high of Thailand and its people. Some of them call them brother. Its not true.
All Laos at home or abroad should learn to speak Thais and other languages. The more we understand , the harder for them to insult us. If they do, we can insult them back in their own language.
I think, it is right, if Lao people view Thais like a brother, Thais don't see same point of view.
Cause, ok we are blinding by the PAST or, it's not true if I say that Thais people are different now. We need to distinct Past and now. But, I think too that is not ALL Thais, just a rich Thais, cause when you earns 2dollars/hours, I think you would not need to be superior than others, they are like same conditions, no problem so.

There were a lot of Lao refugees being mistreated during our stay in Thailand. For those who had such bad experiences, they still have some ill-feeling toward Thai. I'm sure there are good and bad people everywhere. For us, we were lucky enough to come accross of good Thai couple. I still remember vividly, eventhough that was 30 years ago. In 1978, our family of six escaped to Thailand. As soon as the canoe reached the other side of Mekong, the pilots left us at nowhere in the middle of the night. We were so scared of being robbed, raped, etc... We spent the rest of the night in vacant hut without food and water until the owner of the hut came to his rice field the following morning. After 20 - 30 min talking to my parents, he was disappeared and came back along his wife with food and water for us. He could come back with the weapon to rob us if he wanted too. But, no.... he was very nice. he helped us through the process of immigration. I would like to appreciate Thai people who helped us during our difficult time.
Dear Isan's Sons Do not disappoint about good things that you did:real god people have in our heart:Honesty, Donation, respond, respest, and Humanity;that why don't care about the order say about you. regard

i wasn't happy and so many others...you got that Wrong! there were so many people pack in that camp, not enough water, sewer. The food that you get for UN was just enough to survive, most people were depending on relative send money from other countries.
