Some Lao people are shy to sing Morlum, while this Farang (foreigner) from america loves Lao music. Check out his latest album to be fully released soon.



Jonny Olsen is from L.A. California in the U.S.A.  He can sing Morlum and plays Lao traditional instrument known as Khaen. He learned in Thailand and Laos. He made his cd titled " Farang Yak Bpen Morlum".


He has been to Vientiane many times. He is well known in down town Vientiane because he always entertain audience with his Khaen playing.

For your information. Did you know Jonny Olsen won a khaen contest in Khonkaen province, Thailand. He is the first westerner known to win a khaen playing contest.

Yes, one day Laos would be a heaven for all people around the world, I guess. It's time for Laos to try to create such a condition, since Laos want to develop country through tourist industry. 

No matter what race they have, as long as they are talent and can give a huge contribution to Lao development under Lao flag, that would be fine for Lao people. 

That would only improve Lao people life, no doubt.

johnny is one talented guy... white guy that is.. i had a chance to hangout and party with him once.. no doubt that he is very talented khane player and also likes to sing lao songs.... i was even more shocked that he can really sing mor lum... one of those dirty lum lao too..

good to see that he is making lao cd/vcd... i knew he had came out with a cd in thailand.
