The latest Lao boy band sensation Bless Hero (B-hero) have been climbing up the radio request charts this month with their debut single Yang Hak You (Still loving you).
The band launched the single several months ago through the F-Entertainment record company, and it has been gaining popularity ever since on the 105.5MHz flagship radio show, SD Happy Music.
“Young people between 14 and 20 years old call to request this song on our programme every day, and other radio programmes as well,” said the show's presenter, DJ Pom.
“Another song that is popular right now is Song San Khon Ta Damdam (Pity a young man), which is the newest single by a young dark horse called Lang, who is getting better known with this single. I'm sure this guy will soon have more songs for his fans.”
The DJ said that other hits that had been out for some time were still getting a lot of requests, including Khoy (Wait) and Chep Phor Chao (Hurt because of you) by northern hip hop group L-zone, and Mokha (Void) by Cream.
B-Hero member Khai said the band hoped to complete a full album by the end of the year in CD and VCD. “ Most of the songs we are working on were created by studying the popular radio programmes every day to find out which styles most listeners want, and we've found that pop is it,” he said.
A listener in Oupmoung village, Sikhottabang district, Ms Manotham, 18, said she often requested songs from radio programmes after a tiring day at school. “My current favourites are Yang Hak You and Song San Khon Ta Damdam, they are from new artists, but they create pleasing music with good content.”
