I wonder if they are Laotian from Laos or Esan. Having listened their songs I felt that Pink pronounced some words like Esan people did. Just curious to know.
Some Lao singers like to pronounce like Thai words in the songs, they think their albums will sell more if they sing at least one Thai word in the song. So much of reserving Lao language.
Yes, lao and thai words are similar as they originated pali and sunskrit. However, Thai language is developed well, if not very well, Lao language is never developed, some even were reduced due to hard to pronounce. It is really sad. It seemed to ridiculous, last time when I watched Lao TV, I knew that the expert of current Lao language got doctor degree from Vietnam. Do forgive me it is true. I don't know whether he still refers to pali or sunskrit, which iriginated in India. That is a big problem. I am afraid it would be like you learn English in the country where people seldom speak English. Like that you would never able to speak English well.
Japanese have had this problem before. They had least word to say the world so they have borrowed or imposted and made some new track.New Japanese track for pronouncing in much more sounds and alphbets than main language is Hirakana (sorry if I misunderstood).Example ; department they say departo and write with their new language track .They have learnt to assimilate since Emperor Tokukawa .Laos should develop something to overcome newage culture on the strong root culture.Laos people can speak France and English better than Thais.
When Thai people speak English or other languages, we can tell immediately they are Thais because of their strong Thai accent as if they are speaking in Thai. Laotians can speak foreign languages with lesser accent.

I have to disagree. How is that possible when Lao has less sounds than Thai does and somehow they can speak foreign languages better?
The English language takes 36 muscles to speak. Japanese only takes 6. Imagine how much it takes to say those R's in Thai, whereas Lao doesn't even have an R in its daily language.
