Lao Cement Co Ltd on Friday selected six privileged young women for the hotly contested title of Miss Cement 2008.
Ms Anthala Soulitham, 22, a law student from Vientiane , is one of the lucky winners who will model for company's calendar.
“I think it all happened completely by accident because I didn't really intend to compete in the contest,” she laughed.
The fifth year student said that her sister suggested she apply for the contest, believing that her good looks would help her to win.
“I just went there and applied, and then I got the call to take part in the final round,” she said.
The six models for the 2008 Miss Cement calendar are Ms Anthala, Ms Khamphone Phommalangsy, 19, Ms Lilavadee Thoumphala, 20, Ms Douangmany Heuangkhamsen, 19, Ms Manila Xaysilikoun, 19 and Ms Palamy Vongsay, 19.
