The 18 finalists deliver their messages to Vientiane Times readers, who they call on for support in their battle for the coveted beauty title.
A1. (Anna) Age: 19 Height: 163 cm Representing: Champassak
Right now I am studying at Teacher Training College in my hometown of Pakxe. My dream is to be a good teacher so I decided to learn this subject.
It is an amazing chance for me to be one of 18 finalists to perform on the stage on September 22. This is the first time that I have been involved in a beauty contest.
My family and friends persuaded me to fill in the application forms for the competition.
I think that it is a good opportunity for me to learn new life experiences which I have never had before. Apone Lao 2007 is a great competition.
This is a dream for many young Lao women including me because it is a national beauty contest. I think it gives me a good chance to know other beautiful representatives from around the country through our pre-final contest activities.
Champassak people are proud of the Miss Apone Lao title as the first winner was from Champassak province. I dream to be the second winner like Miss Keochinda Keosuliya.
A2. Ms Khammany Manichan (Seng) Age: 18 Height: 160 cm Representing: Luang Prabang
I am in my second year of a three year course at Maneevanh college, majoring in accounting. I have three older sisters who are beautiful and single.
I saw that many young women in my province applied for this contest and my friends led me to apply too. I did not know much about it at first but just wanted to try.
This year I was second place winner at Nang Sangkhan in Luang Prabang province (Ms Lao New Year festival, Luang Prabang).
I feel a bit worried about appearing on the Miss Apone Lao stage in Vientiane at the moment because this competition is different to Nang Sangkhan. Miss Apone Lao is a national title. The contestants will have to walk and wear fashion on stage and answer questions from the judging panel to be chosen in the six best winners.
I think that this is so challenging for me! We must perform well in speaking, walking and having a good attitude on the stage.
If the judging panel throw a surprise question to me, such as asking me to perform something on stage I will do a traditional dance.
More interview coming soon !

Well, that is good answer for both of them. However, there is some word which is not really...well hearing for this step....of A2. She said "I think that this is so challenging for me! We must perform well in speaking, walking and having a good attitude on the stage.". I think, she should be good including attitude and mind in her reality without pretending to people suround her. Anyway, she is one beautiful in mong many ladies.
According to completator's photo, A4 and A7 will be involved at the final round if they can answer the question well.
Share up all the ladies, !!!! keep being good example for lao ladies and with our traditional.
A3. Ms Sengvanh Tandala (Teng) Age: 18 Height: 163 cm Representing: Luang Prabang
I am one of two children in my family. Currently apart from studying at my school, I also perform the Fonenangkeo traditional dance at Luang Prabang Palace in my province on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday evenings.
I dream to be teacher so I am at a teacher training college in Luang Prabang. I think that this is a good profession. Although it may give me a small income, that doesn't matter. The important thing is to do what I love!
I love to pass on knowledge to the new generation who are the future of our nation. I think that the job of teacher is crucial as he or she will be a role model for children. If a teacher performs well, the children will be good too.
When I think about Miss Apone Lao, I want more young Lao women to take part in this contest so that organisers will have a better chance to choose a winner who is representative of Laos , to spread Lao culture in society as well as on the international stage.
A4. Ms Phoulatsamee Latanavong (Toukta) Age: 19 Height: 163 cm Representing: Savannakhet
I don't think I stand much chance of winning this contest because there are so many other well qualified entrants. However, I can't help but be optimistic about my chances to win a prize of some sort on the final night.
I think the contest will be a wonderful experience for me. It will give me the opportunity to make friends from other parts of the country, also representing their individual provinces in the competition.
I'm learning English in the Phonesavanh Secondary School in the Savannakhet province.
