(KPL) At least 300 students who have just completed from secondary schools this year will be unable to further their study in Champassak University.
The students can not afford for their study due to the poverty status of their families, said early this week the Head of Education Administration Office of Champassak province Mr Bouaphanh Silapakit.
This year, approximately 3,400 students in 10 districts across Champassak province graduated from upper secondary schools. But out of this figure, only 1,850 have the chance to participate examination to continue their study in universities.
Mr Bouaphanh explained students’ parents have to pay for their uniforms, daily living cost, dormitory rental and academic fee. He suggested that state organisations should issue more detailed policies relating to the sustainable education development, focusing on helping outstanding students who are poor study in universities.
